About Us

Northern Oxford Regional Ambulance Service dba Med-Care Ambulance provides emergency medical services (EMS) in Northern Oxford County, Maine. Our agency provides 911 emergency responses to eleven towns in Oxford and Franklin counties, as well as some unorganized territories. Our service is comprised of full time and per diem EMS clinicians (EMT, AEMT, and Paramedics) who provide care for citizens 24 hours a day.

Our Services

Our primary focus is the provision of emergency medical treatment and transport for our citizens. As a regionalized ambulance service, we are able to focus all of our efforts toward patient care, allowing us to be the true experts in prehospital medicine. In addition to our emergency responses, approximately a third of our yearly call volume includes patient transportation to other medical facilities. We perform routine and emergency inter-facility transport from our local hospital to other hospitals with higher levels of care. This is for conditions related to traumatic injuries, cardiology, and intensive care.

Med-Care is also able to provide medical coverage for community events such as high school athletic games, road races, and more. Interested groups meet with us to discuss their needs and the type of event they are hosting so that we can better determine the specific needs of an event.

Just heard a Med-Care ambulance go by my Rumford home. I want to thank you for the many times you came to help my wife. You were always professional and personal. I had you only once and I found out how good you were. We are very fortunate to have you here in our area. I sincerely thank you. Tom Fallon, Rumford
